Generally speaking, a Caribbean all-inclusive resort is a resort that includes at least 3 meals a day as well as drinks (alcoholic and soft) within your nightly rate. Outside of the rooms, guests will find lots of water activities to choose from, a spa and a few land activities.

A medium sized resort with great reviews, the Blue Bay Villas Doradas offers guests a beachfront location that’s only a 10 minute walk or so to the Playa Dorada Golf Club. In addition to golfing, guests will find on-site, 4 restaurants, a full service spa, water fun including snorkeling and kayaking and the chance to take part in dancing lessons. Rooms are nicely sized and feature a minibar, air conditioning, a TV, free bottled water and room service, though with limited hours. Wi-Fi can also be used within each room with a daily fee.

A large resort with rather large and well appointed rooms, the Sunscape Puerto Plata is a great resort for those traveling with kids as well as those who aren’t, as there are many options available for each.
