Should you get the All-Inclusive or Explorer Pass?

For most people it will be pretty obvious which version fits their travel style better, but it’s worth mentioning that generally an All-Inclusive Pass is going to be a better choice for someone who likes to plan their trip and can get started early enough each day. Many of these included attractions are pretty close together so it’s actually pretty easy to do 3 or 4 attractions each day as long as you plan well and start early.

Top included sights and attractions with the Go City London Explorer Pass

There are over 60 different attractions and sights to choose from, with all of them popular with one crowd or another. However, the attractions listed below seem to outdo the rest.

Tower of London– £34.80

Conveniently in the shadow of the Tower Bridge, the Tower of London dates is almost 1,000 years old and was one of the key parts of the original settlement of London itself. The White Tower is the ornate castle that is the most visible part of the interior of the walls and it’s something that must be seen. The famous Crown Jewels are also here and are another unforgettable sight. Younger people might not find it all that exciting, but they’ll be glad they visited in the end, and they’ll have a chance to take some photos with the famous Beefeater guards.

City Cruises Thames River Pass– £23.00

It’s not obvious until you take a cruise on the Thames, but most of the city’s most famous landmarks are actually built along the river and the best views are had from a cruise. This is a 24-hour hop-on, hop-off pass, which can also be handy for transportation and avoiding the traffic. Because there are plenty of different buses running at 5 to 15 minute intervals, once you hop off of one, you won’t have to wait very long for the next. This means that you can easily see a lot within one day, which wouldn’t be the case if you had to drive around and figure out where exactly to go using your map or GPS. Some of the sights you’ll see and be able to jump off the bus for are the Piccadilly Market, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, the London Bridge and the Coco-Cola London eye, which we will explain more about below. I’ve done the Chelsea and Arsenal ones and they are both fantastic, with the Tottenham one being the newest of the three. The guided tour takes you into the dressing rooms and the press rooms as well as a luxury box and finally down onto the pitch, with plenty of great photo opportunities. The tours of course end in the gift shop, and all of those are impressive as well.

The Dare Skywalk – £45

Speaking of the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the new Dare Skywalk has you get to the top of the stadium and once you are strapped into a harness you can wander around checking out the inside of the stadium and the incredible views of London from the top.

Sherlock: Official Live Game – £45

This officially sanctioned escape room is themed with the recent Sherlock Holmes TV show featuring Benedict Cumberbatch. It’s a one-hour experience made up of mysteries and puzzles that will be familiar to fans of the show or Sherlock Holmes. They even have a Mind Palace bar you can visit at the end and get themed cocktails at 10% off with your pass.

Is the Go City London Pass a good deal

Unlike the traditional city passes where visitors get access to a long list of attractions and have to rush to do as many as possible in a set number of days, the London Explorer Pass lets you pre-purchase a set number of attractions and gives you 60 days to get to them all. As a result, it’s quite easy to do the math on these passes and you’ll know before you buy that it’s a good deal for you.

You simply have to look at the included list of attractions and determine how many of them you’ll want to visit. It’s obvious that you’ll only want to focus on the expensive ones and fortunately there are quite a few of those and most of them are extremely popular on their own. I’d recommend going down the list and looking for the MOST expensive ones that sound interesting and then determining whether you have the time and energy to do those. Assuming you do, you’ll lock in big savings with no real risk.

One of the great things about the Go City London Explorer Pass is that it includes a great number of expensive attractions that are almost compulsory for any visitor to see anyway. For example, the Hop-on, Hop-off bus, the Tower of London, and Westminster Abbey are top attractions that almost everyone is going to want to experience either way.

Obviously many of the included attractions (there are now over 90 of them) are specialized, but each of them will appeal to a lot of visitors. For example, the Chelsea and Arsenal stadium tours are going to be the absolute London highlight of any supporter or even casual fan of those teams. There’s even a Sherlock Holmes-themed escape room game included, which will be incredibly popular with Holmes fans and fans of the TV show.

How not to use the Go City London Pass

Once you’ve got your Go London Explorer Pass, the first thing you’ll want to do is take a look at each attraction description. Then you’ll want to take a look at the map and start planning where each one is and how to get to and from. Some of the attractions are much closer to each other than some of the others, so if you’re planning to visit more than one during the same day, you’ll want to take into consideration both the distance and time of travel between those two. One thing to keep in mind is that you’ll have 60 days visit the attractions on your pass, no matter what size pass you’ve purchased. This means that unless your stay is short and sweet, there’s no need to plan all of the attractions in a day or two.

There are a few attractions on the list of attractions and sights available that are considered secondary attractions. These attractions are low cost attractions. What you don’t want to do is decide to only visit those as you may find that you won’t end up saving much money (or any at all) in comparison to the gate fees themselves.

All in all, the Go City London Pass seems to be a great value, as long as you make sure to pick higher priced attractions instead of only low costing ones.
