23 Europe All-inclusive resort destinations from cheapest to most expensive in 2018
The concept of an “all-inclusive resort” where all meals and even all drinks are included in the daily room rate, was evidently launched by the Club Med group only in 1950. Ever since then, the concept has exploded in popularity, with thousands of such hotels and resorts all over the world. Many people immediately think about the Caribbean when it comes to all-inclusive resorts, but Turkey, Spain, and Greece each have more all-inclusive properties than the Dominican Republic or Mexico, which are the Caribbean leaders.
We publish and update a popular list of the cheapest Caribbean all-inclusive destinations each year, and we wanted to do the same for those who want to stay in or near Europe. Most of these destinations have their best weather from May through September, although some of them have even longer seasons.
The cheapest all-inclusive hotels are insanely cheap, but…
How does a hotel stay in business offering a room plus 3 meals and drinks for 2 people for £22 (US$31) per day? We aren’t sure, but some places are evidently offering those rates. Virtually all of the hotels with absurdly low rates also get terrible reviews and mostly regretful guests.
Most of the cheapest hotels are also farther from the beach than guests realized, and also charge for air conditioning and wifi. If you are thinking about booking an all-inclusive room for anything less than £50 per night, read the reviews very carefully or you’ll almost certainly regret it later.
23 Cheapest all-inclusive hotel destinations in and near Europe
The list below ranks each destination by its lowest priced all-inclusive resorts. The room rate given includes a room, 3 meals a day, and (usually) unlimited drinks, including all taxes and fees. Room rates are all checked for a weeknight in June, 2018. Rates for weekends or July and August may be higher.
Marmaris, Turkey
- All-inclusive resort rates: £22 to £213/night for 2 people, including taxes
- All-inclusive resorts: 28
- Resorts with A-I option: 97

The weather along Mediterranean Turkey is generally scorching in July and August, and most locals stay indoors if not an actual siesta. As a result, the shopping and socializing scenes shift into the evening hours, which is another real highlight of this region.

Bodrum/Bitez Beach, Turkey
- All-inclusive resort rates: £23 to £234/night
- All-inclusive resorts: 44
- Resorts with A-I option: 103

Bodrum is just across a channel from Kos Island, which appears a bit down this list. With the Turkish currency and other problems hitting their tourism industry pretty hard, you get a lot more for your travel money in Turkey than you do in Greece these days.
- Nearest airport: Milas–Bodrum Airport (BJV)
- Flight time from London: 4:05 nonstop
- Best weather months: May, June, September, October
- Popular with: Brits, Germans, Dutch, Russians, eastern Europeans

Hurghada, Egypt
- All-inclusive resort rates: £26 to £188/night
- All-inclusive resorts: 41
- Resorts with A-I option: 42

In spite of alcohol being difficult to get in most of this Muslim country, it flows freely at the all-inclusive resorts in Hurghada. You obviously won’t be getting top-shelf liquor at the cheaper resorts, but at least you do get booze. Even the nights can feel too warm here in the summer months, so this is a good place to consider for spring or autumn.
- Nearest airport: Hurghada International Airport (HRG)
- Flight time from London: 5:25 nonstop
- Best weather months: March, April, May, October, November
- Popular with: Brits, Germans, Belgians, Dutch, Scandinavians, eastern Europeans
Antalya, Turkey
- All-inclusive resort rates: £33 to £651/night
- All-inclusive resorts: 362
- Resorts with A-I option: 348

The resort scene is so large in Antalya that there are certain beach neighborhoods where each nationality tends to cluster. You’ll find British areas and German areas and Russian areas, which are ideal for those who prefer to stick with their own when visiting another country.
- Nearest airport: Antalya Airport (AYT)
- Flight time from London: 4:10 nonstop
- Best weather months: May, June, September, October
- Popular with: Brits, Germans, Belgians, Dutch, Scandinavians, Russians, eastern Europeans

Sunny Beach, Bulgaria
- All-inclusive resort rates: £49 to £105/night
- All-inclusive resorts: 13
- Resorts with A-I option: 38

Sunny Beach is a good choice if you want to rub elbows with middle class residents of neighboring eastern European countries as well as Russians. The thin stretch of sand here as well as the water itself always seem to be packed in photos of Sunny Beach, so this isn’t an ideal choice for those who prefer quiet and a bit of privacy.
- Nearest airports: Burgas Airport (BOJ), Varna Airport (VAR)
- Flight time from London: 3:35 nonstop
- Best weather months: June, July, August, September
- Popular with: Brits, Irish, Germans, Belgians, Dutch, Scandinavians, Russians, eastern Europeans
Crete Island, Greece
- All-inclusive resort rates: £49 to £469/night
- All-inclusive resorts: 23
- Resorts with A-I option: 59

Some of the resorts on Crete are quite remote so leaving the hotel grounds isn’t as easy as in some other places. Some of the cheaper places also charge extra for air-conditioning, so it’s worth scanning the July and August reviews of any place that you are thinking about booking.
- Nearest airport: Heraklion International Airport (HER)
- Flight time from London: 3:45 nonstop
- Best weather months: May, June, September, October
- Popular with: Brits, Germans, Swiss, Austrians, Belgians, Dutch, Scandinavians, Finns, Russians, eastern Europeans, Israelis

Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain
- All-inclusive resort rates: £53 to £599/night
- All-inclusive resorts: 3
- Resorts with A-I option: 83

Value here is very good compared to the Spanish mainland, so the longer flight is usually worth it. Alcohol is quite cheap in restaurants in Tenerife, with daytime specials of €1 half-liters of beer very easy to find. As a result, those who don’t drink much might get better value out of a full-board plan.
- Nearest airports: Tenerife–South Airport (TFS), Tenerife-North Airport (TFN)
- Flight time from London: 4:20 nonstop
- Best weather months: April through November (decent all year)
- Popular with: Brits, Germans, Swiss, Austrians, Belgians, Dutch, Scandinavians, Finns, French, Italians, Russians

Sharm el-Sheik, Egypt
- All-inclusive resort rates: £56 to £578/night
- All-inclusive resorts: 27
- Resorts with A-I option: 117

The summer temperatures here are scorching so this is another top choice for the spring and autumn months. And even though alcohol can be tough to find in Egypt’s cities, it’s not hard to find in Sharm el-Sheik.
- Nearest airports: Sharm El Sheikh International Airport (SSH)
- Flight time from London: 5:25 nonstop
- Best weather months: March, April, May, October, November
- Popular with: Italians, Russians, eastern Europeans
Kos Island, Greece
- All-inclusive resort rates: £62 to £264/night
- All-inclusive resorts: 8
- Resorts with A-I option: 43

Again, the cheapest of these all-inclusive resorts are often not on or near the beach and they usually get pretty bad reviews, so if you are going to book something on your own it’s critical to research carefully.
- Nearest airport: Kos Island International Airport (KGS)
- Flight time from London: 4:00 nonstop
- Best weather months: May through October
- Popular with: Brits, Germans, Swiss, Austrians, Belgians, Dutch, Scandinavians, Finns, Poles

(tie) – Zakynthos Island, Greece
- All-inclusive resort rates: £64 to £292/night
- All-inclusive resorts: 10
- Resorts with A-I option: 22

The value here is still very good though, as you can find very nice 3-star hotels here that get great reviews for well under £100 per night for two people. This is another destination that you need to read the reviews carefully since some of the resorts located on the coast don’t actually have a sandy beach nearby.
- Nearest airport: Zakynthos International Airport (ZTH)
- Flight time from London: 3:30 nonstop
- Best weather months: May through October
- Popular with: Brits, Germans, Swiss, Austrians, Belgians, Dutch, Italians, Scandinavians, Finns, Poles, Russians

(tie) – Agadir, Morocco
- All-inclusive resort rates: £64 to £242/night
- All-inclusive resorts: 3
- Resorts with A-I option: 15

Unlike most of the other destinations on this list, the second language of Morocco is French, and English is a distant third. For this reason it’s understandably more popular among French-speaking guests. Those who don’t speak French should be fine at one of the more expensive hotels, but cheaper places may not have many English speakers on staff.
- Nearest airport: Agadir-Al Massira Airport (AGA)
- Flight time from London: 3:50 nonstop
- Best weather months: May through November
- Popular with: Brits, Germans, French, Portuguese, Belgians, Dutch, Italians, Scandinavians, Finns, Poles, eastern Europeans
Marrakech, Morocco
- All-inclusive resort rates: £69 to £115/night
- All-inclusive resorts: 7
- Resorts with A-I option: 6

The inland location means that these are desert resorts with large pools rather than beaches. It also means that you get warm weather as early as April, so it’s a good choice for those who are sick of the winter cold and want to sunbathe earlier in the year.
- Nearest airport: Marrakesh Menara Airport (RAK)
- Flight time from London: 3:40 nonstop
- Best weather months: April, May, June, September, October
- Popular with: Brits, Germans, French, Portuguese, Belgians, Dutch, Spanish, Italians, Scandinavians, Finns, Russians, eastern Europeans
Algarve/Albufeira/Faro, Portugal
- All-inclusive resort rates: £74 to £286/night
- All-inclusive resorts: 8
- Resorts with A-I option: 40

The shorter flight times for many western Europeans adds to the appeal, though you can still reach Mallorca or Ibiza in less time from most starting points. Hotels here are good value and the whole area is cheaper than you would expect based on the quality.
- Nearest airport: Faro Airport (FAO)
- Flight time from London: 2:50 nonstop
- Best weather months: May through October
- Popular with: Brits, Germans, Austrians, Swiss, French, Belgians, Dutch, Scandinavians, Finns
Rhodes Island, Greece
- All-inclusive resort rates: £78 to £251/night
- All-inclusive resorts: 29
- Resorts with A-I option: 100

Many of the beaches on Rhodes are gravel rather than sand, so if that matters to you it’s important to read the reviews. At the cheaper places you might also have to pay for air conditioning as well as wifi, but still it’s hard to argue with the overall value.
- Nearest airport: Rhodes International Airport (RHO)
- Flight time from London: 4:00 nonstop
- Best weather months: May through October
- Popular with: Brits, Germans, Swiss, Austrians, Belgians, Dutch, Italians, Scandinavians, Finns, Poles, Russians, eastern Europeans

Fuerteventura, Canary Islands, Spain
- All-inclusive resort rates: £78 to £482/night
- All-inclusive resorts: 6
- Resorts with A-I option: 54

As with the other Canary islands, the weather here is nice all year round, and it’s popular with northern Europeans even in December. Overall value here is quite good, and there aren’t many cheap places that get terrible reviews to worry about.
- Nearest airports: Fuerteventura Airport (FUE)
- Flight time from London: 4:20 nonstop
- Best weather months: April through November (decent all year)
- Popular with: Brits, Germans, Swiss, Austrians, Belgians, Dutch, Scandinavians, Finns, French, Italians

Corfu Island, Greece
- All-inclusive resort rates: £79 to £215/night
- All-inclusive resorts: 6
- Resorts with A-I option: 54

Reviews for the cheaper all-inclusive properties here can be pretty bad, so this is another island where you have to be careful before confirming anything. The hotels that seem to mainly do packages usually get better reviews, so that might be the way to go if you want to stay on Corfu.
- Nearest airport: Corfu International Airport (CFU)
- Flight time from London: 3:05 nonstop
- Best weather months: May through October
- Popular with: Brits, Germans, Swiss, Austrians, Dutch, Italians, Scandinavians, Finns, Poles, Russians, eastern Europeans

Cape Verde
- All-inclusive resort rates: £83 to £166/night
- All-inclusive resorts: 4
- Resorts with A-I option: 6

There are only about 10 hotels that are all-inclusive or offer all-inclusive meal plan options, but it’s still an interesting possibility because of the year-round warm weather. Even the most expensive all-inclusive hotels here are fairly cheap compared to the Caribbean.
- Nearest airports: Amílcar Cabral International Airport (SID), Aristides Pereira International Airport (BVC), Cesária Évora Airport (VXE)
- Flight time from London: 6:10 nonstop
- Best weather months: All year long

Ibiza, Balaeric Islands, Spain
- All-inclusive resort rates: £88 to £299/night
- All-inclusive resorts: 6
- Resorts with A-I option: 61

The purely all-inclusive resorts tend to be spread around the less populated parts of Ibiza, but many of the hotels that offer an all-inclusive option are in or very near Sant Antonio, which is where much of the famous nightlife is based.
- Nearest airports: Ibiza Airport (IBZ)
- Flight time from London: 2:25 nonstop
- Best weather months: May through October
- Popular with: Brits, Germans, Swiss, Austrians, Belgians, Dutch, Finns, French, Italians

Mallorca, Balaeric Islands, Spain
- All-inclusive resort rates: £90 to £302/night
- All-inclusive resorts: 10
- Resorts with A-I option: 253

You can find a full-feature all-inclusive hotel here that gets consistently solid reviews for around £100 per night for two people including everything. And you don’t have to spend too much more to get something a bit on the posh side. The short flights from the UK and Germany make this one very popular all summer.
- Nearest airports: Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI)
- Flight time from London: 2:20 nonstop
- Best weather months: May through October
- Popular with: Brits, Germans, Swiss, Austrians, Belgians, Dutch, Scandinavians, Finns, French, Italians, Russians, eastern Europeans
Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain
- All-inclusive resort rates: £92 to £329/night
- All-inclusive resorts: 4
- Resorts with A-I option: 57

The bottom price all-inclusive hotels can be a bit dodgy, but overall the quality is quite high up and down the scale. For £100 per night per couple you can get an all-inclusive deal at a chain hotel that gets good reviews from nearly all past guests.
- Nearest airports: Lanzarote Airport (ACE)
- Flight time from London: 4:15 nonstop

Cyprus
- All-inclusive resort rates: £101 to £402/night
- All-inclusive resorts: 6
- Resorts with A-I option: 58

You’ll even find some all inclusive resorts in or very near the town of Ayia Napa, which has a music and nightlife culture similar to Ibiza. The long flight may not help its appeal, but prices on most things are quite low once you land.
- Nearest airport: Larnaca International Airport (LCA)
- Flight time from London: 4:40 nonstop
- Best weather months: May through October
- Popular with: Brits, Germans, Austrians, Swiss, French, Scandinavians, Finns, Belgians, Russians, eastern Europeans, Israelis
Menorca, Balaeric Islands, Spain
- All-inclusive resort rates: £113 to £170/night
- All-inclusive resorts: 0
- Resorts with A-I option: 35

There are almost no purely all-inclusive hotels on Menorca, but there are a few dozen that offer an all-inclusive option. Most of those seem to work primarily with travel agents selling packages, so that might be your best bet. Of the hotels that are bookable online, they are mostly all in a tight range of nightly rates, with no real cheapies like on most of the other islands.
- Nearest airports: Menorca Airport (MAH)
- Flight time from London: 2:20 nonstop

Similar to Menorca, nearly all of the all-inclusive resorts on Gran Canaria appear to be bookable only through packages. You might get the best deal from the travel agent on the high street, including flights and transfers. If you do want to book yourself you’ll find that quality here is very high, and nearly all properties get very good reviews compared to the overall market.

Hi Roger,
Is there seasonal differences in rate tha you give. Do these rates are included in summer.
For what season I can assume these rates.
Are these AI hotel from 3 to 5 stars
Thank you again,
Mustafa,
I checked these rates for June, 2018. Most of these places are only open from May through October or so, and I’m pretty sure July and August are more expensive.
The cheapest all-inclusive hotels I was finding more be closer to 2 stars, but there is no official definition for star categories in most countries so it’s mostly a matter of them managing expectations. I think most hotel choose the highest number of stars that won’t lead to angry reviews. That said, 3 star places can be pretty basic in most of these Mediterranean destinations. Let me know if you have any other questions. -Roger
Hi Roger,
Thanks for you quite usefull.
I have two questions
1. you give rates such as
• All-inclusive resort rates: £22 to £213/night for 2 people,
it the rate £22 for 2 people (if I go two, I will pay £22 for both of us)
or for one person in a double room (two will be £44 per night).
I am going to write an academic article by referring your information. ?s your data reliable!
Best regards,
Mustafa,
Yes, that €22 per night is for two people and includes taxes so if you had two people and stayed one night the total bill would be £22 for both people. That said, it sounds suspiciously low to me and the cheapest places all get pretty terrible reviews. My hunch is that they are pretty terrible hotels that serve bad food and super cheap liquor AND that probably try to make money by selling excursions or other extras. I researched all of these prices myself and as far as I can tell you could book at least certain dates for the prices listed. As I mention in the article, it seems like actually booking at one of the absolute cheapest places would probably be a mistake, at least if you go by the past guest reviews.
Again, my hunch is that for those lowest prices you would get a terrible experience, BUT I found all of these deals on legit travel booking sites such as Expedia.com and they would de-list any places that are complete scams. You can check in those same cities yourself and you’ll probably see the same resorts listed this summer. Best of luck with your project. -Roger
Hi,
I am wondering why Albania is not on this list as it is quite cheap and lovely.
Good day.
Martin,
When we did the research for this list we looked into Albania, but we didn’t find a large group of all-inclusive beach resorts there. I know there are beaches and very reasonable prices, but the list above is specifically for all-inclusive resorts. Can you help us find them in Albania? We only include places with enough of them to compete with the ones that made the list. Thank you. -Roger
Hi I live in Canada but how would I be able to take advantage of these all inclusives?
Vanita,
There is nothing stopping you from booking any of these resorts. Obviously the biggest challenge would be the cost and duration of the flight to get there and back. But once you had that figured out you can go on any site such as Expedia.com or .ca and you’ll see room rates in the ranges of the ones mentioned in the article. However, it can’t be stressed enough that the cheapest hotels in any given area are likely to be disappointing, and that it’s probably best to look for something more in the middle of the pack at a resort that gets solid reviews. -Roger
Hello,
What is “A-I” or “A-1” option please ?
Thanks
Michael,
Sorry for the confusion. AI-option means “all-inclusive option.” Sometimes it’s easy to jump into lingo and abbreviations without realizing that most people probably haven’t seen that before. -Roger
